As a fulltime Operations Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering, business and management aspects of a project or a system, and make sure that all the parts work properly together. You must be able to perform direct and advisory roles in oversight, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives.  As an operations systems engineer you are concerned about the big picture of a project in addition to engineering aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules, and customer’s needs.  The ideal candidate is based in Pittsburgh, PA or elsewhere in the continental U.S. 

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Speaking to and collaborating with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management and other team members during the creation and maintenance of a system.
  • Creating control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organizations’ quality standards.
  • Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational.
  • Develop a cost-efficient system for projects by performing a cost-benefit analysis
  • Ensuring that an organization’s solution is operating at maximum efficiency.
More About You
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in back-end system management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required.
  • Rudimentary level understanding of JavaScript
  • Understanding of JSON frameworks
  • Experience Using Postman
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience using SQL
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Experience using Firebase
  • Basic Git commands
  • Experience leading projects focused on delivery customer value through technology.
  • Customer-focused and business-oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong communication and business writing skills.
  • Proficient in producing presentations and reports using office suite tools.
  • Ability to identify, resolve and follow up on issues leveraging subject matter experts.
  • Team player - strong initiative, independent thinker, driven to succeed, high energy with a commitment to work and follow-through.
  • Willingness to travel (25%).
  • Experience in deployment of SaaS software preferred.
  • Trucking Industry experience a plus.
  • Agile experience is a plus.
