Maven is on a mission to automate trucking operations and change how the world moves freight. Since 2014, Maven has been providing software to many of the nation’s top trucking and transportation fleets to power their mission critical operations and keep the economy moving. We work at the intersection of operations software, real-time telematics, optimization research, and machine learning and AI to build technology that is changing a massive industry. As one of the fastest growing tech startups in the logistics space, we are looking for exceptionally bright and talented individuals to add to our world-class team.

We provide mission-critical software and applications that power the transportation industry 24/7. This means we have a tremendous responsibility to build resilient, fault-tolerant technology that is rigorously tested. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest quality standards across all our software products and development processes. This involves deep collaboration with development engineers and product managers, creating robust test automation frameworks, identifying opportunities for automation, and executing complex test plans. You will be responsible for bug reporting and triaging, enhancing our CI/CD pipeline with automated testing, and supporting design reviews across engineering teams to drive continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.

Maven is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate is based in Pittsburgh, PA or elsewhere in the continental U.S.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop and document comprehensive test plans and strategies for new development and regression coverage across web, mobile and backend applications.
  • Plan and execute integration and acceptance-level tests in the field using real trucks to validate product performance and reliability.
  • Create automated testing frameworks using Appium for mobile apps, Selenium for web UI automation, and Python for backend automation. This includes developing processes for regression, load, and integration tests for various products and internal systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure that QA is an integral part of the development process, focusing on enhancing user experience and maintaining high Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Interact directly with customers to understand product requirements and real-world use cases, incorporating this feedback to influence testing strategies and ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Participate in design and product reviews to provide feedback on requirements, identify technical hurdles and debt, and assess the impacts on testability and risk.
More About You:
  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software QA engineering, with hands-on experience in automation testing using tools like Selenium, Appium, and BrowserStack.
  • Excellent knowledge of software testing strategies, best practices, and automation frameworks for both mobile and web applications.
  • Strong software scripting skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and a solid understanding of software architectures, distributed systems, and mobile app testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and triage complex software systems, offering prioritized solutions and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • You are driven by results and have a desire to deliver impactful outcomes every day.
  • A resourceful team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience with mobile and web test automation using BrowserStack or similar cloud-based platforms for cross-browser/device testing.
  • Experience or strong interest in the logistics industry and how technology can optimize supply chain and transportation operations.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
